Dune AllenCoastal Flavor

1/4

Hike or bike miles of trails in this beach hideaway treasured by nature lovers.

Dune Allen is a beach hideaway treasured by nature lovers. With miles of trails and sprawling, sugar-white beaches, you can enjoy a stay in a rustic beach cottage and explore the rare coastal dune lakes or relax in refinement at a guesthouse or vacation home. Spend your mornings soaking up the sun and your nights strolling the beach. It’s the perfect escape.

Start the day with fresh coffee and breakfast from Kith and Kin. When you’re hungry for coastal flavor, Stinky’s Fish Camp is the place to eat, serving up Gulf-fresh seafood in a casual, lively environment. Located along Allen Lake, Stinky’s is a local and visitor favorite, famous for its Cajun-inspired classics with Gulf Coast twists. Don’t miss their all-day oyster bar and beloved Sunday Jazz Brunch – complete with Bloody Marys!

For a souvenir and a taste of Dune Allen nightlife, Stinky’s Bait Shack is a must-visit. Located right next door to the restaurant, Stinky’s Bait Shack sells everything from live bait to New Orleans coffee. When you’re finished browsing take a seat at the full- service bar for a cold beer, a good time and maybe a fishing story or two. If you’re in the mood for barbecue, don’t miss 3 Sons Bar-B-Q, home to smoked brisket, pork, chicken and mouthwatering appetizers accompanied by cocktails, wine and craft beer on tap.

To work up a sweat or just stretch your legs, hit the Timpoochee Trail. Running through Dune Allen, it offers smooth paths and unbeatable scenic sights. Love pitching a tent and exploring Florida’s natural habitat for yourself? Venture over to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and revel in the uninterrupted white sand beaches and 25-foot rolling dunes. If you want to spend a night under the stars, rent a cabin or campsite under the pines. Check out Dune Allen’s five coastal dune lakes for an aquatic marvel you won’t find in many other places. Hidden behind the dunes, lakes Allen, Campbell, Morris, Oyster and Stallworth are home to wetland plants and rare ecosystems. You have to see it to believe it!

There’s nothing better than a day on the beach, and thanks to two regional beach accesses, including the newly constructed Dune Allen Regional Beach Access and Fort Panic Regional Beach Access, getting there is a breeze. The access point offers ample parking, restroom facilities and convenient dune walkovers so you can stay on the sand until the sun goes down.

If you’re ready to experience a pure beach getaway off-the-beaten-path with old Florida charm, Dune Allen is for you. Get packing!
