Elope to Ever After

And there are countless reasons why Walton County makes an ideal destination for elopement.

Half the fun is choosing the perfect site for exchanging your vows. You can have a festive ceremony with your toes in the sugar-white sand – or opt for a beyond-the-beach locale that showcases some of the unique local charm. Thankfully, Walton County is filled with diverse settings that let you tie in elements that feel more special to you and yours.

If you’re interested in a more traditional ceremony, check out St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church. Built in 1896, this charming chapel showcases what is known as the Carpenter Gothic architectural style. It’s located on Circle Drive, part of the DeFuniak Springs Historic District filled with classic Victorian homes and restored buildings surrounding Lake DeFuniak.

With more than 160 acres of pristine beauty, Morrison Springs State Park is a picturesque destination for your nuptials. When you’re looking to “take the plunge,” what better backdrop than a crystal-clear, spring-fed swimming hole?

Eden Gardens State Park combines natural beauty and historic charm. Also covering more than 160 acres, it’s home to the Wesley House, a stately two-story mansion surrounded by white columns and sweeping verandas. A popular spot for vows is the “wedding tree” – a gigantic live oak whose branches have a seemingly endless reach. Over 600 years old, it stands as a symbol of enduring beauty.

If you need assistance in finding just the right spot, don’t stress. There are several local planners who specialize in arrangements for elopement. They’ll listen to your vision and dream up a specific solution that makes your big day achievable and affordable.

With more than 14 years of experience, Yours Truly Weddings can help you with everything from accommodations to caterers, restaurants and receptions. Gulf Beach Weddings offers a wide variety of packages that allow you to customize your big day exactly how you envisioned it. To add a little more festive character to the celebration, they also offer special themed weddings such as a beach luau. Intimate Weddings 30A offers all-inclusive wedding packages that take all the planning off your plate. All of these planners can even help to make arrangements for a ceremony at a private beach where you may be staying.
